With todays' and second band announcement for the 9th edition of the European leading cult, fuzz and all that is heavy sounds festival, DESERTFEST BERLIN have outclassed itself while adding the following, six new and more than exciting names to their eclectic line-up in 2020!
They belong to the most distinctive bands of the Swedish psychedelic classic rock, their sound influenced the heavy rock scene for decades, but they also rarely appear live on stage: DESERTFEST BERLIN is proud to welcome legendary WITCHCRAFT in 2020! Vintage tunes meet a fresh rock approach, no hiatus and line-up changes could stop them for creating what they do in perfection; WITCHCRAFT's live show will mark a true and unforgettable highlight in the festival's history to date!

Greek fuzz rock unit 1000mods, THE hottest band within the current heavy rock scene, will finally be back in Berlin after almost two years! On this special show you’ll be listening to some amazing new tunes, from their upcoming record (which is recorded as we “speak” in Seattle), for the very first time! 1000MODS, who have toured relentlessly almost all over the world for a decade, satisfying everyone from stoners to metalheads, and who have shared the stages with bands alike The Black Keys, The Black Angels, Graveyard, Brant Bjork, Colour Haze among many more, are known and loved for their commitment to the vintage equipment, a thick and heavy analog sound and remarkably passionate stage performances. With an average age of nearly 23 years old, Icelandic Rockers THE VINTAGE CARAVAN show a maturity worthy of any band that has been on the road for decades. When the band got on stage at the 2012 edition of the Icelandic Eistnaflug festival, the trio was only allowed to enter the venue accompanied by their parents. The charismatic band released 3 critically acclaimed records to date, their following career has been impressive: Tours with bands such as Europe, Blues Pills, Grand Magnus or just currently with Opeth to name just a few, festival appearances all over the world alongside Wacken Open Air, Roskilde, Hellfest and many more, THE VINTAGE CARAVAN have risen up as one of the most high-voltage and best entertaining live bands. Newcastle-based maximalists, PIGS PIGS PIGS PIGS PIGS PIGS PIGS, whose riffs, raw power and rancour have blazed a trail across the darker quarters of the underground in the last five years, will finally bring their mighty tsunami of rancorous riffage and unholy abjection to the DESERTFEST BERLIN crowd! They are the perhaps most relentlessly head-caving outfit of an alarmingly fertile scene, which has seen them build on their incendiary live reputation far and wide. Sabbath-esque squalor meet an Iggy-esque drive to dementia, Motörhead-style dirt sharpened into addictive hammerblow and nihilistic dirges of yore alchemically transformed into an uplifting and inviting barrage of hedonistic abandon!
Todays' high class announcement for DESERTFEST BERLIN 2020 will be rounded up by Phoenix-based, metal up&coming, SPIRIT ADRIFT, who are carving out a sound now patently its own. Lazily labelled Doom by some, the band is in fact the true representation of what modern Heavy Metal should sound like, a direct descendent of the widely-appealing arena-filling superstars of the ‘80s and ‘90s without a whiff of anachronistic cosplay fantasies!
DESERTFEST BERLIN 2020 will take place between May 1st - 3rd at the riverside and in the heart of Berlin, the Arena. After last year's changes of a new sound system, the 'Black Box', that got high praise from both guests and critics alike finding themselves back at an intimate, high-energy underground club show, the festival will provide many more specials, space, and again a chill- party - and live zone on the popular Hoppetosse boat!
