The band’s 1991 debut album World Without God was released on the French label Thrash Records. Despite the awesome reception of this breakthrough record, CONVULSE wanted to move on and add new elements in the new recordings.
They introduced brand new Death’n’Roll elements first in their EP Lost Equilibrium to fully refine them on their second full-length Reflections, both of which were released on Relapse Records. Then CONVULSE disbanded in 1994 falling into a 18 year inactivity.
In 2012, the band was asked to do a one-off festival appearance that became a ressurection of CONVULSE. Outside of live shows, they released a new material on their EP Inner Evil with their comeback album Evil Prevails in 2013. The album is a classic, menacing, old school Finnish Death Metal full of strong riffs and brutality. However, CONVULSE wanted to push the envelope once more with the Death’n’Roll elements. Their fourth studio album Cycle of Revenge released in 2016 was a great release with progressive rock influence, groove, and melodies still with the death metal background. It was a bridge to the latest album Deathstar blending all the influences of Death Metal, Heavy Rock, Prog Rock, and even some good old fashioned Rock’nRoll to create what may well be their absolute peak of creativity and innovation. Deathstar was released via US Transcending Records at the end of 2020.
CONVULSE were already confirmed for OEF 2022, but unfortunately due to contracting covid-19 they couldn't make it then, so the 2024 anniversary year will be a time to reminisce about the old days. CONVULSE rehearsed all tracks from their classic debut album World Without God for fans to hear them live celebrating the album‘s 30-year anniversary. Join us in welcoming CONVULSE to perform at OEF the timeless classic tracks such as Incantation of Restoration, Putrid Intercourse or Resuscitation of Evilness. The band was formed in 2013 as a studio project between a few friends, but very soon after that when BELUSHI SPEED BALL decided to play their first show their fan base grew rapidly, because what they did was simply hell on earth and today this sextet has a reputation as a brutally energetic band and they definitely crush everything alive with their shows!!!
Definitely a candy for fans of crossover thrash and hardcore. There is definitely nothing wrong with the fusion of Municipal Waste, Gwar or Toxic Holocaust!!! It's like combining Mad Max with Terminator!!! What a ride it will be!!!

People watch out!!! For the second time at the Battlefield we will have these true pioneers of extreme music, SIEGE!!! Chaps who have been pulling it together since 1981 and who have influenced the worldwide grind/hardcore scene with names like Napalm Death, Converge or Lärm for example.
It doesn't matter if you call their music grindcore, hardcore or power violence, but the fact is, that SIEGE were ahead of their time and are still grinding it into us today with incredible speed and energy that even their much younger colleagues could envy!!! Those who saw their performance at Obscene Extreme in 2019 will surely agree with us!!!
SIEGE really crushed the OEF back then and moreover they loved it here and we are really excited to announce these forefathers of extreme for the 25th annual event where they will be one of the guests of honor!!! Because without them grindcore would definitely look different!!!
