International punk/metal supergroup TAU CROSS has sworn allegiance to NPR for the premiere of "Fire In The Sky," a stirring new track taken from the band's upcoming Relapse Records debut. Lars Gotrich's Viking's Choice column spotlights the song, noting, "Amebix is in Miller's blood, no doubt, so that rumbling bass crunch is familiar and welcome — as is a raspy howl that's aged beautifully. But check that B3 organ lead, the Black Sabbath-nodding doom riff, the arena-sized windup before the blast-beat-smoldering chorus — it all lays the groundwork for a thundering track about opening the portals between worlds."
The piece also includes an in-depth explanation from Rob "The Baron" Miller on the song's esoteric origins. Listen to "Fire In The Sky" on NPR:
