Zum nunmehr dritten Mal besuchten wir das Chronical Moshers Open Air. Wer schonmal da war weiß, dass das Motto "von Fans für Fans" hier gelebt wird und dass hochgradiger Suchtfaktor besteht, sobald man einmal Blut geleckt hat. Das Lineup war für meinen persönlichen Geschmack ein Kracher und das Wetter versprach für das Festivalwochenende Gnade walten zu lassen und es mit den Temperaturen nicht zu übertreiben - beste Ausgangsbedingungen also. Die Anreise aus Dresden erfolgte mit dem eigens vom Skullcrusher e.V. organisierten Bus. Ausreichend viele Pausen, durstige Mitreisende und ein unwiderstehliches Getränkeangebot an Bord verleiteten bereits auf der Hinfahrt zur ein oder anderen Kaltschale.

Una vez más experimentan introduciendo elementos no habituales en el resto de sus canciones, en esta ocasión las voces limpias son el elemento protagonista. Por otra parte hay muchos riffs pegadizos, punteos extraños, acordes imposibles de tocar y solos de guitarra que harán estallar tu cabeza. Es muy complicado crear álbum bueno de principio a fin, pero lo curioso de este es que según pasan los temas, mejora progresivamente.

Dream the Electric Sleep was formed in 2009 by Joey Waters, Matt Page, and Chris Tackett. Joey and I are from Lexington, Kentucky and Chris is from West Virginia, a neighboring state. Joey and I are cousins and started playing together at age 16, twenty years ago! We played in a couple of different projects before DTES. Chris joined the band about 8 years ago and that is when DTES was formed. We have always been motivated by pushing our song-craft, and trying to write music that moved us emotionally but also challenged our skills as musicians. On top of that it was always our goal to create full, rich albums. I know that is not the most popular thing these days as the music business has really focused on the single or individual tracks disembodied from the album, but I like context. I want the song before and after a track on an album to influence your relationship to it. That is a very 1970’s thing I think.

German Furious & Frantic Death/Thrash Metal outfit Dying Empire presents the artwork of what will be their debut album"Dystopia". The artist in charge of this design is ‪‎Zinnoberdesign‬ and represents the loss of identity for individuals amongst modern society. The band address the influences of modern technology on mankind, executing a mixture of Death and Thrash Metal which is both melodic and brutal, composed by extensive melodic parts, furious blast beats, modern influences and - beware - some clean vocals.

Artistically and aesthetically deeply rooted in the Seventies the Valeta brothers Armand Valeta (vocals and rhythm guitar) and LG Valeta (lead guitar) founded '77 (pronounced Seventy Seven) as a direct reflection of the concept of the era they love. Over the past years '77, who are hailing from Spain, didn't just make a name for themselves with their studio recordings, but particularly with their high energy live shows that secured them countless European tours with the likes of diverse bands such as Bullet, Audrey Horne, Michael Schenker's Temple of Rock, Danko Jones or their label mates Dead Lord.
