Additional evidence of MARUTA's auditory war crimes has been exposed, with new, preemptive audio and visual documentation on the unit's Remain Dystopian LP spreading through media this afternoon. The first in a series of video reports from the clandestine recording sessions documenting the outfit's torturous experimentation with ultra-brutal audio frequencies has been leaked via YouTube:
While the sources at Lambgoat have uncovered the entire second track from the impending release, appropriately titled, "Hope Smasher." Listen to the new track:
MARUTA's third full-length invasion, and first under the banner of Relapse Records, Remain Dystopian inarguably dispatches this infamous unit's most demoralizing and strenuous torture tactics to date.
ROYAL THUNDER, who Stereogum said have created “the contemporary hard-rock equivalent of Fleetwood Mac’s 'Rumors',” are sharing a new series of videos discussing the songs on Crooked Doors in detail, with the first clip viewable now. Check out the commentary:
The clip arrives as the Atlanta-based outfit prepares to join Wilco for a late Southeastern U.S. tour, kicking off April 22 at McFarlin Memorial Auditorium in Dallas. The outing will be followed by the band’s own tour, launching May 28 in New Orleans, which also includes a brief run of shows with Halestorm and Rival Suns.
Crooked Doors was released earlier this month, with NPR saying it is a “a stunning hard-rock record that examines what happens after a breakup of any kind.” Entertainment Weekly said Crooked Doors “leans on its substantial pop chops. Tracks like ‘Glow’ are more Heart than Led Zep, which is not a bad thing at all.” Metal Hammer UK recently nominated the band for “Best Underground Band” in their annual Golden Gods’ Awards.
Only The Ruthless Remain is the imminent new full-length from recently reactivated New York death metal kings, SKINLESS. Boasting their classic late '90s lineup of founding guitarist Noah Carpenter, vocalist Sherwood Webber, bassist Joe Keyser and drummer Bob Beaulac, with the recent addition of second guitar gun, Dave Matthews, Only The Ruthless Remain is an unrelenting, seven-track symphony of sonic sickness as only SKINLESS could compose.
Today, SKINLESS is pleased to officially unleash the gut-wrenching sounds of opening psalm, "Serpenticide" for public inebriation. Relays Webber, "'Serpenticide' was the song that got us into the flow of creating this album. This track has the grind, dirge, and vengeful bludgeoning that makes it a slicing cross cut of Only The Ruthless Remain." Listen to the crushing new track via SoundCloud:
And on YouTube:
Propelled by the stunning guitar heroics of brothers Pete and Jake Adams, Virginia's VALKYRIE return with their third full length Shadows, one of the year's best guitar-driven, heavy rock records. The record is set for a May 19th release via Relapse Records, but this week the band has shared a new track, entitled "Golden Age," which you can listen to now via Noisey:
With no regard to current trends, or retro-rock posturing, VALKYRIE rides on with a true, classic, heavy metal assault that has turned many heads with its impressive live shows and soul-stirring conviction. Their new LP Shadows comes out May 19th via Relapse.
RIVERS OF NIHIL have completed work on second full length album!
Reading, PA's RIVERS OF NIHIL have officially completed work on their follow up to The Conscious Seed of Light. The band tracked at Atrium Audio (atriumaudiopa.com), just a short drive from their hometown to Lancaster, PA with producers Carson Slovak and Grant McFarland. Guitarist Brody Uttley detailed the equipment and process in a pair of blogs, exclusively for heavyblogisheavy.com. Read those both HERE and HERE.
The new album's details will be released within the coming weeks and is tentatively scheduled for a late summer release worldwide on Metal Blade Records. Stay tuned for music, art, tour dates, and more.
RIVERS OF NIHIL's debut album, The Conscious Seed of Light, was recorded in March of 2013 at Mana Recording Studios in Florida with famed metal producer/musician Erik Rutan. While The Conscious Seed of Light is not necessarily a concept album traditionally speaking, RIVERS OF NIHIL began their project with the idea that they would release four separate albums tied together with one common theme: each reflecting a particular season of a year. Bassist Adam Biggs elaborates; "The Conscious Seed of Light is intended to be representative of spring and explores various themes concerning new beginnings, growth, and an attachment to the natural world in a post-human Earth. Unlike some concept records however, we wanted to allow each song to work on its own terms. Rather than have the songs rely on each other to move a specific story structure forward; they work within their own separate narratives, but ultimately serve the album's broader concept." RIVERS OF NIHIL's lineup is rounded out by guitarists Brody Uttley, vocalist Jake Dieffenbach, and drummer Alan Balamut.

From Resurrection Fest Crew:
"We're glad to announce the addition of these new 17 bands to the RESURRECTION FEST 2015 bill. With all the previously announced bands, the lineup is practically closed, having only two groups left.
One of the most important deathcore bands nowadays, Suicide Silence, will return for the first time with their new vocalist Eddie Hermida, after the sad decease of Mitch Lucker, and with a new album. The powerful hard rock of the Canadians Danko Jones, the reggae nu metal of Brits Skindred, the punk rock of Strung Out and the street punk of The Exploited will also be present in Viveiro.
We must highlight Berri Txarrak, who will perform a very special set at Resurrection Fest for their 20th anniversary, our beloved Toundra releasing a new album, the biggest metal band from Portugal, Moonspell, or the black-metalers Swedes Dark Funeral. Other important bands like Deez Nuts, Decapitated, Defeater, Heart of a Coward, Der Weg Einer Freiheit, Dr. Living Dead, Misanthrope or In Mute are also added in this round. Full list:

As we have already stated, after the cancellation of one new headliner before being announced, we're working hard to find substitutes. Later on the two left bands will be announced, along with the winners of the Band Contest (about which we'll tell you soon), the tribute bands and the after-parties.
Do not forget that this year we'll also have high-level concerts during the previous Wednesday of the festival, since we'll open our venue to have free warm-up shows. Furthermore, there will be a new area for the extreme sports fans where there will be exhibits and motorcycle trials shows, with world-wide stars such as Fred Crosset (Monster Energy), and also enjoy a professional skate team. We'll update about this in the following weeks.
Tickets will stay at the current price of 85 € until the 15th of April, so use these days we're offering you and buy your ticket if you don't have it yet.
See you in Viveiro!"
“EXTINCTION is a project coming out from a very good musical and personal relationship between Ekaitz Garmendia, Iban Hernandez and Andoni Bassman.
With lot of experience from the Extreme Metal beginnings in the band PHTHISIS from Bilbao, as well as being part of one of the most emblematic Spanish band LEGEN BELTZA, our main motivation is to continue investigating in Metal and our instruments, far away from any trend or cliche.
We are peparing material following this path, and we are willing to show in short time the result of this restlessness.
We hope that this motivates you as much as it does to us!!
Welcome to EXTINCTION, The Dark Matter.”
