Finally the best week of the year was here! Obscene Extreme Festival!

This year we were determined to give it all, from the pre-party to the after-party.

The pre-party was held in a venue near the festival site. Great pre-festival atmosphere with many of the regulars. We were able to enjoy a few of the bands that we would see over the next few days, a very good party and drinks at super cheap prices. A great start.

We did not leave late as we had to get up early to find a good place in the camping area. What a joy to be able to park right next to our Belgian friends.

Just in time to have a privileged place to spend the rest of the week at an early hour, and thus be able to rest a little more before the festival began.

As every year the Freak Fest began, various crazy things, including garbage can races, spanking the ass, eating spicy food until crying, various vomiting things...

If you want to enjoy the freak fest in its purest form, you must be fast, because so many people are around and it is difficult to see anything. So run for a good front row spot next year!

The first day was focused on Old School Metal. We were able to enjoy top-level bands like Exciter, Death Strike, Hellripper... And a special mention to Holy Moses, who are giving their last live concerts. The moment when Čurby and Bilos came on stage with a special cake for Sabina and the band, was one of the most exciting things we have experienced this year, moments that we will never forget. Proving that it is the best festival and the one that cares most about the artist and the public.

A perfect Wednesday, which culminated like every day in the tent, with the relevant party until sunset. What a brutal and perfect first day!

Although for many our first day was Wednesday, many people arrived on Thursday, which would be the first official day of the festival. I am not going to focus on saying that great bands played, since Obscene stands out for choosing each band meticulously and each and every one of the 82 formations that make up the line-up this year were special and genuine. A marvel. Grindcore, Death, Crust...

The 3 days of the festival were a non-stop of joy and memorable concerts. Nothing of 4 stages where the bands overlap and you lose more than half.

In the Battlefield there is only one stage, where one after the other, each band comes out to give it their all, since playing in the OEF is a dream come true.

This year we enjoyed a thorough renovation of the venue, it looked amazing and super comfortable!

Carcass, Massacre, Brujeria... The 82 that passed through there made us enjoy ourselves, what a time!

A really special mention to the guys from Serrabulho: with a foam cannon, cheerleaders (our beloved Ronny Meinders) and always a thousand people messing around on stage, what a memorable party (search it on YouTube, countless videos...worth seeing).

And every night in the tent a memorable party, full of people, all happy, dancing, singing... And the crew being part of it!

The after party was tough this year, as the party was too memorable, but it was held as best it could. And we enjoyed great bands again. The surprise band was Pyrexia.

This year the increase in prices has been noticed everywhere, everything has gone up a lot and logically it has affected the festival. But nothing comparable with prices in other places. They remain more than competent and logical. Half a liter of top quality Czech beer for 2.66 euros, where do you find that today?... Nowhere!

Food of all kinds with an amazing vegan variety, all delicious. Salty, sweet, varieties of coffee, cocktails... There is everything!

People from all continents... The perfect place to make friends. And those of us who have been going there for years know it, always familiar faces and new ones to meet, the friendships that are made here are truly marvelous. It cannot be compared to any other festival.

As well as people from bands who come because they love the festival. To name a few VIPs who were there this year: Fernanda Lira (Crypta), Christophe Knecht (Inhumate), Maty/Kebab/Kojas (Gutalax), João Gordo (Ratos de Porao)... among others.

This year, without a doubt, the ones who sold the most merchandise were Gutslit. The last day was full of their famous white t-shirts with the unicorn, congratulations! You really deserved it.

And one more than important fact, Obscene is financed only through fans, that's why support is so important. Those of us who love the festival know it. You have to buy merch (also now they have their own printing press, so if you couldn't buy your t-shirt, sweatshirt, etc. visit the website and don't hesitate to place your order). To continue enjoying the best festival in the world it is essential to support it. And not only during what lasts. Also during the rest of the year. Mouth to mouth is still essential in the underground scene, so spread the word!

Of course there are a thousand anecdotes and things to tell, but with what has been said you can get an idea of the wonder that the OEF is, now all that remains is for you to go check it out!

Thanks from the deepest of our hearts to Čurby, his family and the whole crew, who every year make the best event in the world possible, being the kindest, best organized... Thank you!

And of course to all the people who shared the festival by our side, you are the best!

Por fin llega la mejor semana del año: la semana en la que se celebra el Obscene Extreme.

Este año estábamos decididos a darlo todo, desde la pre-party hasta la after-party.

Y es que se lo curran como nadie.

La pre-party se celebraba en un local cerca del recinto del festival. Ambientazo pre festi con muchos de los habituales. Pudimos disfrutar de varias de las bandas que veríamos durante los proximos dias, muy buena fiesta y bebidas a precios super económicos. Un comienzo genial.

No nos retiramos tarde ya que había que madrugar para pillar un buen lugar en la zona de acampada. Que alegría poder estacionar al lado de nuestros amigos belgas.

Justo a tiempo para tener un sitio privilegiado donde pasar el resto de la semana a una hora temprana, y así poder descansar un poco más antes de que empezase el evento.

Como cada año el Freak Fest daba comienzo, locuras varias, entre carreras de cubos de basura, azotes en el culo, comer picante hasta llorar, vómitos varios... 

Si quieres disfrutar del frikismo en estado puro ya puedes ponerte las pilas, porque se agolpa tanta gente que es difícil poder ver algo. ¡Corre a pillar buen sitio en primera fila el próximo año!

El primer día se centraba en el Old School Metal. Pudimos disfrutar de bandas de primer nivel como Exciter, Death Strike, Hellripper... Y una mención especial a Holy Moses, que se encuentran dando sus últimos conciertos en vivo. El momento en que Čurby y Bilos salieron a escena con una tarta especial para Sabina y la banda, fue de lo más emocionante que hemos vivido esta edición, momentos que jamás olvidaremos y que demuestran con creces que es el mejor festival y el que más se preocupa por los artista y público.

Un miércoles perfecto, que culminó como cada día en la carpa, con la fiesta pertinente hasta la puesta de sol. ¡Qué primer día tan brutal y perfecto!

Aunque para muchos nuestro primer día fue el miércoles, mucha gente llegó el jueves, que sería el primer día oficial del festival. No me voy a centrar en decir que tocaron grandes bandas, ya que el Obscene se destaca por escoger cada banda minuciosamente y todas y cada una de las 82 formaciones que conforman el cartel este año eran especiales y genuinas. Una maravilla. Grindcore, Death, Crust... 

Los 3 días de festival fueron un no parar de alegrías y conciertos memorables. Nada de 4 escenarios donde se solapan las bandas y te pierdes más de la mitad.

En el Battlefield hay un único escenario, donde una tras otra van saliendo cada formación a darlo todo, ya que tocar en el OEF es un sueño hecho realidad.

Este año disfrutamos de una renovación exhaustiva del recinto, se veía alucinante y super comodo!

Carcass, Massacre, Brujeria... Las 82 que pasaron por allí nos hicieron disfrutar de sobre manera, que espectáculo.

Mención más que especial a la que montaron los Serrabulho, con un cañon de espuma, animadoras (nuestro querido Ronny Meinders) y siempre mil personas liandola sobre el escenario, menuda fiesta memorable (buscadlo en youtube, infinidad de videos...dignos de ver).

Y cada noche en la carpa una fiesta memorable, llena de gente, todos felices, bailando, cantando... Y la crew parte del fieston!

La after party se hizo dura este año, ya que la fiesta fue demasiado memorable, pero se aguanto como se pudo. Y se disfruto de bandazas otra vez. La banda sorpresa fue Pyrexia.

Este año el incremento de los precios se ha notado en todas partes, todo ha subido muchísimo y lógicamente ha afectado al festival. Pero nada comparable con precios en otros lugares. Siguen siendo más que competentes y lógicos. Medio litro de cerveza checa de la mejor calidad a 2,66 euros, ¿Dónde encuentras eso hoy en día?... ¡En ninguna parte!

Comida de todo tipo con una variedad vegana alucinante, todo riquísimo. Salado, dulce, variedades de cafés, cocktails... ¡Hay de todo!

Gente de todos los continentes... El lugar perfecto para hacer amigos. Y los que llevamos ya años yendo lo sabemos, siempre caras conocidas y nuevas por conocer, es una auténtica maravilla las amistades que se hacen aquí. No se puede comparar a ningún otro festival.

Además de gente de bandas que vienen porque adoran el evento. Por citar algunos VIP que andaban por allí este año: Fernanda Lira (Crypta), Christophe Knecht (Inhumate), Maty/Kebab/Kojas (Gutalax), João Gordo (Ratos de Porao)... entre otros.

Este año sin duda los que vendieron más merch fueron Gutslit, el último día estaba todo lleno de sus famosas camisetas blancas con el unicornio, ¡enhorabuena! Lo tenéis más que merecido.

Y un dato más que importante, el Obscene se financia solo a través de los fans, por eso es tan importante el apoyo. Los que amamos el festival lo sabemos. Hay que comprar merch (además ahora tienen imprenta propia, por lo que si no pudiste comprar tu camiseta, sudadera, etc. visita la web y no dudes en hacer tu pedido), ¡consumir en el recinto! Por eso se curran tanto el merch todos los años y la calidad y precios son más que competentes y buenos. Para seguir disfrutando del mejor festival del mundo es imprescindible apoyarlo. Y no solo durante lo que dura. También durante el resto del año. El boca a boca sigue siendo fundamental en el mundo underground!

Hay mil anécdotas y cosas por contar, pero con lo dicho os podéis hacer una idea de la maravilla que es el OEF, ahora solo queda que vayáis a comprobarlo!

Agradecer desde lo más profundo de mi corazón a Čurby, su familia y toda la crew, que cada año hacen posible el mejor evento del mundo, siendo los más amables, mejor organizados... Gracias!

Y por supuesto a toda la gente que compartió el festival a nuestro lado, amigos de esos mayúsculos. Los viejos conocidos y los nuevos.

La única pega: lo rápido que pasa lo bueno...

Nos vemos sin duda el año que viene en el 25 aniversario, una cita ineludible!!!
