Atlanta-based power sludge and doom merchants BOG MONKEY have unleashed their frantic and skull-crushing debut album "Hollow" this spring on CD and all digital streaming platforms. Dive into this filthy and swampy sonic onslaught with no further ado!
"A fun blend of fast-paced and heavily distorted grooves with a punk rock aesthetic working superbly well with the intense noise rock fusion being played." - Outlaws of the Sun
About their debut album, BOG MONKEY's guitarist and vocalist says: "'Hollow' is a nasty, noisy, spacey, fuzzed out combination of everything we’ve been writing on the road and after our EP back in 2020. While we were recording the album, Joji (bass) and I contracted Covid 19, we had no idea either: we just thought we were super hungover. I guess that’s really what gave the album its sick-sounding riffs and my vocals sounded the way they did. We were ultimately shocked by its success, needless to say."
BOG MONKEY is a loud, noisy, spacy, and fuzzy doom band that has been destroying ears in Atlanta since 2020. Following their 2020 self-titled demo, their debut album "Hollow" is a devastatingly heavy, ear-grinding and filth-drenched 7-track that oozes a massive garage feel and hardcore angst: muscular grooves collide frantically with distortion-laden riffs on top of a mountain of frantic drumming at the crossroads of Conan, High On Fire, The Melvins, Eagle Twin.
It was recorded at their jam room in South Carolina by Jay Matheson. The album's lead single "Soma" was featured in Weedian's special "420 (III)" compilation alongside major acts such as Bongzilla, Dopethrone, Dopefight and Iron Monkey.
