Listen to PERSECUTOR’s new single ‘Sand of Sahara’ HERE

Danish neo-thrashers PERSECUTOR are on a roll, as the band releases yet a new single today in the shape of ‘Sand of Sahara’. The song is the third offering from the quartet’s forthcoming second album ‘Vendetta’, which is set for a release on vinyl and digital formats on October 13th 2023. As with the prior singles, the track does not exactly describe the bright sides of life, as the band says of the single, "Sand of Sahara portrays the struggle of survival under the sun and mortal heat of the treacherous desert."

PERSECUTOR has just announced five dates as support for the Danish thrash metal kings HateSphere, when they are touring Denmark in the fall, as well as a performance at Boringhell Fest this week and not least the band’s album release show in Copenhagen Friday 13th October, that is.

PERSECUTOR was founded in Denmark in 2018 by a group of young musicians with the clear aim of playing aggressive, melodic thrash. The band moved as fast as their music, and in 2019, the hard hitting debut album ‘Rebirth' saw the light of day, followed by a handful of intense local shows, proving the band’s worth as an engaging live act. Following the pandemic in 2020, PERSECUTOR kept itself busy releasing the two standalone singles “Cannibal Island” and "The Blitz. and as the lockdown prevented live shows, the band dived deep into creating the second album 'Vendetta’.

On ‘Vendetta’, PERSECUTOR delivers on all fronts with its direct songwriting and razor-sharp riffing embedding classic genre traits with a modern approach, a keen melodic sense, varied arrangements and a lyrical theme spawned from the deepest pits of the human mind. As on the prior releases, Andreas Linnemann (Baest, Swartzheim, Hajn) is responsible for the clear and punchy production and the vivid artwork is created by Matt Hatting.
