Enter Shikari announces their new album "A Kiss For The Whole World" out April 21, 2023. A first single from it entitled "(pls) set me on fire" will be released today.

It's been three years since Enter Shikari released their last album "Nothing Is True & Everything Is Possible". “Is this a new beginning? Or are we close to the end?" debuted at #2 in the UK charts. The England band asked in a lyric on the final effort. And Enter Shikari fans had no idea how close to the end things really felt for the band against the backdrop of the Events in the last few years where the band was no longer able to play live. The be-all and end-all for Enter Shikari are the live concerts and the dialogue with the fans."At that time it felt like we as musicians were playing the witness the death of our band," says lead singer and keyboardist Rou Reynolds.
Unsurprisingly, the igniting element that restarted the Enter Shikari engine was a live show as they headlined the Download Festival Pilot in front of 10,000 fans. Where not a single new word had flowed from Reynolds' pen in the previous two years, a realization was born that would shape the band's seventh LP: "I had no idea that the human and physical closeness and connection to other people is so central to my writing," he says. Enter Shikari isn't just four people - it's hundreds of thousands.
The new single "(pls) set me on fire" heralds the next stage in the band's development. The first words we hear from Enter Shikari 2.0 this time aren't in the form of a question, but a request: "Please set me on fire". This may be a new Enter Shikari song, but the band hasn't lost any of their flair for bold opening statements. Here, as before, the door is kicked in instead of knocking tentatively.
Commenting on the making of the single, Reynolds said: "Honestly, I thought I was done. I've never felt so disconnected from my purpose. I haven't written any music in almost two years. The longest hiatus before that was two weeks. I was broken. It's almost as if my brain asked, 'What's the point of music if you can't share it with others? What's the point of writing music if you can't experience it with others?' '(pls) set me on fire' was born out of that desperation. This song is an eruption of positive energy. Every emotion that had been trapped inside me for two years has finally been released."
"A Kiss For The Whole World" was recorded in spring 2022 in an old farmhouse in the seaside town of Chichester. Only solar energy was used for the recording of the album. "A Kiss For The Whole World" will be released on April 21, 2023. In February, March and April Enter Shikari will play several residency shows in the UK. Two club concerts in Germany are also already on the tour schedule:
