Initially started as a a solo project until Deacon D. was joined by guitarist Åskväder in September 1999.
After an hiatus HETROERTZEN resurfaced in Sweden in 2009 with the release of ‘Exaltation Of Wisdom’ issued on their own imprint Lamech Records. That album put forward the band’s early interest in the occult, Gnosticism and Illumination.
With a few European tours under their belt , HETROERZTEN issued the unique ‘Ain Soph Aur’ album in 2014, drawing a stunning response from medias worldwide with its unique brand of utter dark , occult , hypnotic black death metal mixed with haunting tenor vocals. The album success brought the band touring North America for the first time.
2017’s new and long expected album ‘Uprising of the Fallen’ promises to crush legions of fans of the genre.
The band comments on the move from the previous album : "We wanted to take our music one step further, make it more straightforward and intense, but the concept is based upon the same core. »

HETROERTZEN's ‘Uprising of the fallen’ is to be released on LISTENABLE records in February 2017.
