Danish black metal phenom MYRKUR has just premiered live recordings of three tracks via the BBC's Radio 1 Rock Show. The sessions, which were recorded live at Maida Vale Studios on October 26, include the tracks
"Frosne Vind," "Onde Børn", "Hævnen," "Jeg er Guden I er tjenerne" and
"Song to hall up high", off of Myrkur's 2014 self-titled EP and her debut 2015 full-length
M. The sessions premiered live this past Sunday and can be streamed via the BBC's website at
this location.
MYRKUR's BBC live sessions follow the release of her first full-length album M, released via Relapse Records in August 2015. Publications including NPR, Stereogum, Pitchfork, Spin and dozens of others worldwide have hailed M and MYRKUR as a unique and timeless expression of black metal, and the album has catapulted MYRKUR directly into the spotlight of the metal community at large.
MYRKUR has also played a select number of shows in Europe, including performances at the Emanuel Vigeland Mausoleum, Roskilde Fest in Denmark, and Midgardsblot Metal Festival. Recently, MYRKUR announced her first-ever tour in support of US post-black metal troupe Deafheaven, and has also been confirmed for Hellfest 2016 in Clisson, France. A full list of dates is available below.
M is available for streaming and physical purchase via Relapse

Info/Bio:
From the darkness of Scandinavia emerges MYRKUR. Hailing from Denmark, the one-woman project signed to Relapse Records in 2014 off the strength of just one EP, its eponymous debut (released September 2014). Envisioned and realized by classically-trained multi-instrumentalist and songwriter Amalie Bruun, MYRKUR combined the rawness of second-wave black metal bands like Ulver and Darkthrone with a natural, ethereal sonic beauty. MYRKUR introduced a wholly unique perspective on the genre of black metal, one that immediately put her on the map and caught the attention of listeners and publications worldwide. MYRKUR's power was more than evident on her first EP, but fully came into its own on Bruun’s first full-length M, released via Relapse in August 2015. Now with two acclaimed releases and several live performances (including one at Denmark’s Roskilde Festival) under her belt, nobody but MYRKUR is in a better place to help Scandinavia reclaim its rightful throne as the global leader of extreme music.
