Novarupta – Swedish Post-Metal Project Reveal New Track “Broken Blue Cascades” Featuring Josh Graham (A Storm of Light/ ex-Red Sparrowes) Via Heavy Blog Is Heavy
Novarupta, the Swedish blackened post-metal project created by former collaborator of The Moth Gatherer and Terra Tenebrosa, Alex Stjernfeld, have just revealed the leading single from their forthcoming second album “Marine Snow”, due out on November 13th via Suicide Records.
Featuring Josh Graham current A Storm of Light member and formerly of Red Sparrowes on vocals, this new track titled “Broken Blue Cascades” is now playing at Heavy Blog Is Heavy, who commented “If this is any indication of what’s to come on the album’s subsequent four tracks, listeners should expect a towering, crushing exercise in atmospheric post-metal.”
Listen to “Broken Blue Cascades” here.
"Broken Blue Cascades explores humanity’s role in the ongoing Sixth Extinction Event and the propulsion of the Anthropocene epoch, specifically focusing on the destructive power of the rising oceans. Benevolent ocean waves will slowly cut apart our cities and redefine our coastal existence. The human species has evolved into a large hive existence, a virus overtaking the planet, destroying and consuming all it touches. No one is blind. No one is blameless. The eyes are all of us." Said Josh Graham about this track.
Just little over a year following the release of their critically lauded debut album “Disillusioned Fire”, the Swedish blackened post-metal project created by former collaborator of The Moth Gatherer and Terra Tenebrosa, Alex Stjernfeld, is back with a new record and just like its predecessor features a host of notable vocalists including Josh Graham (A Storm of Light/ex. Red Sparowes), Lea Amling (Besvärjelsen), Robert Lamu (Skraeckoedlan), Martin Persner (Magna Carta Cartel/ex. Ghost), Mike Paparo (Inter Arma) and Arvid Hällagård (Greenleaf).
While “Disillusioned Fire” was a conceptual album about the element of fire, “Marine Snow “ contains five new tracks whose main focus is the element of water and is the second chapter of this journey through the four elements of nature that will be completed when the other two albums come together.
