New bands confirmed for the next edition!!! PARTY SAN OPEN AIR 2016.
One of the darkest and most strident black metal bands coming from Norway is personified by one man. Hoest, crawled from the mountains of Bergen (Norway) back in 1993, putting his roots firmly in the fiery, bloody ground zero of Norsk svartmetal. With TAAKE, Hoest has displayed a marvelous ability to innovate within the ostensibly rigid confines of black metal. Fans know what to expect, and that is the assurance that TAAKE continually manages to walk the fine line between creative expansion and maintenance of the rough, raw edge of Norwegian black metal. See the band live on our stage!
SVARTTJERN's collection of satanic and grotesque blasphemies, makes your skin turning cold - having this twisted ability to sound truly evil and hostile as far diving deep into their song structures - and exploring them layer by layer, are concerned. The overall performance of these infamous Norwegian icon smashers, is tight, really well-executed and giving them some credit as one of the best 2nd wave of Norwegian Black Metal bands. The band features members of Sarkom and Magister Templi.
It was the year of 2013 when German Cthulu worshippers SULPHUR AEON unleashed their first album "Swallowed By The Ocean's Tide" upon the unsuspecting armies of Metalheads. It raised a lot of dust, for a good reason. "Swallowed By The Ocean's Tide" was nothing less than a fantastic monument of blackened Death Metal with an awesome atmosphere full of blackness, a piece of dark art that caught the spirit of Lovecraftian literature perfectly. To us, it was clear that SULPHUR AEON created a new landmark in Death Metal, really hard to top. Two years later, "Gateway to the Antisphere" was released to continue the summoning of The Great Cthulu. And, even though it's hard to believe, the German three-piece not just kept up the high level of the debut, but they excelled themselves. See them live at our festival!
DROWNED´s debut album „Idola Specus“ summarizes their obvious qualities in creating gloomy Death Metal that despite honoring acts such as Darkthrone (1st album), Demigod, Grotesque, Incantation had something truly unique and daring. DROWNED still know how to express what truthful Death Metal is about compared to acts who stoically and uninspired rumble and stumble through their material. Germany can be proud of itself as it has a broad range of bands delivering unholy Death Metal far away from the international scene’s common stereotypes. DROWNED are no exception.
