Rotten Sound "Abuse To Suffer" (By Ekaitz Tejedor)

Rotten Sound comes from Finland. Formed in 1993, they’ve been releasing actively new albums each two or three years. Together with Napalm Death and Repulsion, those three bands have become strong pioneers of the Grindcore. The Finnish band has released 7 full-lengths and 9 EPs, among other works.

Only 28 minutes long, Abuse To Suffer is the first Rotten Sound album with their new label; Season Of Mist.

The first songs feature a mix of fast and slow tempos, with a very heavy distortion, close to the Doom metal sound. They also use some Sludge riffs.

But after the introduction, they return to the “Rotten Soundessence, with accelerated guitar riffs and a rain of blast beats. Anyway, the songs are varied and towards the middle of the album they play around with old school Grindcore rhythms and again, like a ballad, another Doom song.

Conclusion: In this work they’ve tried to compose a different style of Grind. Mixing different periods of the genre but with a heavy sound compared with their 90s albums.

Favorite tracks: Slave To The Rats, Yellow Pain, Caged, Inhumane Treatment.

Available by Bandcamp and through the online store of Season Of Mist.
