Today (Black Friday) marks the official release of The Black EP from SCOUR, the extreme metal unit featuring Philip H. Anselmo (Pantera, Down, En Minor, et al), John Jarvis (Agoraphobic Nosebleed), Derek Engemann (Philip H. Anselmo & The Illegals), Mark Kloeppel (Misery Index), and Adam Jarvis (Pig Destroyer, Lock Up).

Mixed and mastered by Ryan Vincent at Apollo Audio Alternative with vocals and drums engineered by Stephen "Big Fella" Berrigan (Down, Philip H. Anselmo & The Illegals, Eyehategod), the EP includes guest appearances from Erik Rutan of Hate Eternal, Pat O'Brien of Cannibal Corpse, and actor Jason Momoa (Dune, Game Of Thrones, Aquaman, et al) and serves as the final installment of the band's EP trilogy.

In celebration of the record's release, the band is pleased to present a brand new video for "Doom," now playing courtesy of ESP Guitars USA.

SCOUR made their debut with their ferocious first single "Dispatched." The Grey EP, released via Anselmo's own Housecore Records, dropped in 2016, followed by The Red EP in 2017. Faster, tighter, and more relentless than ever before, this year's The Black is inarguably the band's most savage effort to date.

SCOUR's The Black EP is available on CD, LP, cassette, and digital formats via Housecore Records in North America and Nuclear Blast Entertainment internationally. Find order options at the SCOUR Bandcamp page at THIS LOCATION, the Housecore Store HERE and Nuclear Blast HERE.

SCOUR derives its sound from an intentional minimalist approach. Displaying an emphasis on cohesive song writing and direct composition ideas, exhibited through relentless battery, the band brims with creepy and ominous hooks, dark and macabre vocals, blasting drums, and buzzsaw guitars to get straight to the point. Drawing influences from all extreme entities, SCOUR itself continues to pay homage to some of metal's most prominent acts as can be heard with the 2019 release of their cover of Bathory's "Massacre."

In its short existence, the band has graced the stages of many of the major players in both the mainstream and metal-oriented music festival circuits including Roskilde, Hellfest, Tecate Metal Festival, Maryland Deathfest, and more. As the lineage of its membership suggests, SCOUR continues to be a proverbial force with which to be reckoned both on the stage and in the studio.

"...a dark, vicious trip. It might only be fifteen minutes long but, in those fifteen minutes, SCOUR demonstrates their credibility as a fully-fledged black metal band and not some time-filling project. As a standalone piece of work, The Black is a fantastic collection of vicious savagery. As the completing piece of a three-EP jigsaw, it just makes you hope that this isn't the end of SCOUR because that truly would be a loss to the extreme metal scene." - V13

"SCOUR not only blur genre lines, they smash straight through them creating a brutal mixture of black metal, grindcore along with thrash and punk to form a crushing and punishing sound that will test the most hardened of extreme music fans." - Rock 'N' Load

"SCOUR have crafted something here that is truly potent. They even have a foray into dungeon synth with the masterful interlude, 'Microbes' - certainly an appropriate track name for 2020. Blasting, twisted, and featuring one of the best black metal 'Blech's' that I've heard in a long time, The Black EP is a sort of taking of the throne. Philip Anselmo has definitely proved that he can create some of the best black metal around - and it's wonderfully nightmarish."  - Two Guys Metal Review

"Burning a hole in your speakers, SCOUR are united and attack as one to launch an aural assault that'll leave even the most hardened metalhead battered and bruised." - The Midlands Rocks

"If I was to liken them to any other band, I say from a drive and intensity perspective Anaal Nathrakh, because they have a similar unrelentingly dark, grind laden, brutality to their sound, but SCOUR are individual enough to remain a unique beast of a band in their own right." - Metal Talk
