Stomatopoda is a five-piece metal band based in Alcorcón (Madrid). The band was formed in 2011 under the name of ‘Dieleven’, and 3 years later began to write new stuff far from the original idea of the band, so they decided to change their name and identity. In the first half of 2015, Stomatopoda started the recording of their first album at California Studios (Madrid), a conceptual album which deals with topics such as life, death, existentialism, human condition and extra sensorial trips.

Stomatopoda’s influences go beyond stoner rock and sludge from Mastodon or Baroness, heavy metal’s from Black Sabbath, and even the progressive moments of Tool or The Mars Volta.

Stomatopoda shared stage with many bands from the region of Madrid and other places in Spain, and even with bands from neighbouring countries. ‘Sibylline Odyssey’ represents the first step towards being able to become bigger.
