US Death Metal legends NILE will see the deluxe reissuing of their first four full-lengths via Relapse Records this Spring as part of the label's ongoing 25th anniversary celebration. The albums Amongst The Catacombs of Nephren-Ka (1998), Black Seeds of Vengeance (2000), In Their Darkened Shrines (2002) and Annihilation of the Wicked (2005) have all been out-of-print on vinyl since their initial release, with the exception of Amongst the Catacombs..., which has been out of print for over seven years.
 
The deluxe reissues will each contain a digital download code of the full album and will be released on April 7th in North America, April 6th in UK/World, and April 3rd in Germany/Benelux/Finland. Pre-Orders, including exclusive colors are currently available via this location. A limited number of NILE sticker packs will be included with pre-orders for all four titles.  All four albums can be heard via Bandcamp here.

Relapse Records announced the signing of international punk/metal supergroup TAU CROSS. Comprised of a pedigree of musicians including Amebix vocalist/bassist Rob 'The Baron' Miller, Voivod drummer Michel 'Away' Langevin, Misery guitarist Jon Misery and War//Plague guitarist Andy Lefton, TAU CROSS formed in 2013 and recorded their debut album over several months in 2014 throughout three different countries.  The record is slated for a late Spring release via Relapse.

Rob Miller commented on the project saying "The music that evolved over this time is difficult to categorize, as there is clearly a lot of Amebix in the songwriting as well as some elements of gothic, Joy Division, Pink Floyd, Black Sabbath, Industrial and hard fucking old-school punk rock.  This is an entirely original work that is the organic fusion of four unique people. We decided to let the songs form themselves around the original demos and allow people to bring themselves into the mix, to allow the bark to grow around the tree. We are all very proud of what we have achieved in this short time and looking forward to working together again as soon as time allows."

Miller also talked about the band playing live and signing to Relapse: "Tau Cross will be playing live over the coming year, we hope to Tour in the US and Europe, it is still early days but I feel this is going to be an intense live experience. We were introduced to Relapse through a mutual friend, Brad Boatright at Audioseige Mastering, and were delighted that they stepped up and took this under their wing straight away, we look forward to working with them in the future."

Los aficionado al stoner están de enhorabuena con el regreso de los Americanos. Desde el pasado año, nos han ido presentando progresivamente las diferentes vertientes por las que transcurre su nueva creación. En formato single mantenían puntualmente actualizados a sus seguidores por medio de temas como “Minions” presentada ya el año anterior, y las más recientes “Annhilation Affair”, “Bishop in Arms”, “Loose Men” y  “Undone”. Apreciábamos pronto la complejidad musical y diversidad, de la que hacen gala los de Miami. Como ellos mismos se suelen definir se mueven entre los cauces del “Stoner rock” y el “Sludge rock” subgéneros ambos que se nutren asimismo de otros géneros  que aportan por tanto esa riqueza musical de la que presumen.

La banda continúa en su línea atronando con pesados ritmos de bajo combinados magistralmente con sus poderosos riffs y voces melódicas, que están presentes en todo el plástico y consiguen crear una atmósfera única y envolvente, atrapando rápidamente al oyente.  Una perita en dulce sin duda para esos puristas que buscan ese plus en la interpretación de los músicos que ejecutan las piezas con sobrada maestría y virtuosismo.

Un nuevo paso evolutivo en la trayectoria de los americanos que a buen seguro, servirá para establecerse un poco más y coger caché dentro del terreno por el que se desplazan.

Los suecos The Sewergrooves estarán girando por la Península Ibérica a finales de este mes para ofrecer una serie de nuevo conciertos. The Sewergrooves aprovecharán para presentar en directo las canciones de su nuevo EP, "Essentional Volume Masters".

La banda sueca cuentan con una dilatada carrera hasta la fecha, 15 años de trayectoria y 6 trabajos discográficos lo atestiguan. Su género muy de corte norteamericano setentero y ochentero, con influencias claras de los Stoones, Ted Nugent y Thin Lizzy, su último trabajo del 2011 es un homenaje al mejor Hard Rock continental.

Acompañarán a la banda sueca en todas las fechas los bilbainos Highlights; es una banda de rock de Arrigorriaga formada a finales de 2009, actualmente compuesta por Sergio García (batería), Xabier Valero (guitarra), Mario Coira (guitarra y voz) y Miguel Moral (bajo y voz). El pasado año consiguieron el premio a “Mejor Banda de Euskal Herria”, y en 2015 presentan su nuevo Ep “Storming the Gates”, 6 temas empapados de rock puro con raíces clásicas.

Los germanos vuelven a la carga tras cinco años de ausencia compositiva. Con el paso de tiempo, cada vez se toman más descanso y mayor intervalo de pausa entre los álbumes. Es lo que hay, ya no son unos chavales. Por ello, antes de atacar el disco, conviene hacer algo de retrospectiva. La banda supera los veinticinco años de andadura, ha atravesado por fases  donde han explorado y experimentado hasta la máxima expresión pero siempre bajo el sello de Blind Guardian y ahora con la veteranía que atesoran saben lo que quieren y por donde se pueden mover. Rollos aparte, este retroceso tiene como meta señalar el límite que se marcó en 1998 con “Nightfall in middle-earth”.

Venían atravesando años de éxito y se encontraban en lo más alto, además eran grandes tiempos para el power metal. Con el cambio de siglo la cosa cambió, el enfoque compositivo cambió radicalmente y se comenzaron a centrar en majestuosas producciones, con coros envolventes y atmósferas que poco tenían que ver con sus anteriores discos. A día de hoy, son muchos los que aún siguen esperando un disco de aquella época, de la vieja escuela, sin querer asumir que las cosas han cambiado. Sin embargo, nada es obstáculo para tener un buen disco entre las manos, aunque si conviene tener claro lo que vamos a encontrar. De hecho, siendo justos ellos mismos han reconocido que algunos temas de su extensa discografía son a día de hoy imposibles de llevar al directo por las exigencias que tienen y sus limitaciones debidas al paso del tiempo. Analizando el plástico, pronto nos damos cuenta que la banda trata de alcanzar la excelencia, con mucha orquesta. Han requerido tres orquestas clásicas de coros diferentes: Una de República Checa (Praga), otra de Hungría (Budapest), y otra más en Estados Unidos (Boston), para dar rienda a sus composiciones y combinar su música. A nivel de letras según cuenta Hansi Kursch es una historia entre Ciencia ficción y fantasía. El disco abre ya con un tema enrevesado, y dando muestra del excesivo cuidado que mantendrán en la atmósfera a lo largo del disco. Un tema de más de nueve minutos para empezar a lo grande, pomposo y estridente por igual en algunos momentos.

A pesar de todo el envoltorio, apreciamos el gran trabajo de los músicos que siguen desarrollando como antaño y que quedará patente en el resto de las canciones. La estabilidad de la dupla guitarrera, Andre Olbrich y Marcus Siepen se agradece y su entendimiento es categórico. Temas como el segundo corte “Twilights of the Gods” dan un poco de tregua a los viejos seguidores, a pesar de estar también bastante recargada. Otro para sus incondicionales es “The Holy Grail” que durante mucho rato da la sensación de ser un tema rescatado de los 90. En contraposición, temas como “At the Edge of the Time” o “Ashes of Eternity” están abarrotados de arreglos, siendo excesivamente pomposo el primero, de forma que llega incluso a saturar, mientras que la segunda deja algo más de margen para coger aire. Hacía el final, echan mano del piano para una sentida balada, “Miracle Machine” con la que consiguen cautivar rápidamente al oyente. El Plástico poco a poco llega a su fin y se reservan una pieza soberbia, con encanto, que rápidamente te captura y sirve para culminar el disco a lo grande. Tema pulido hasta los límites, una composición magistral donde exhiben todos sus dotes como músicos y que sirve como colofón para un buen trabajo musical. Nada de esto cambiará las peticiones de muchos seguidores, pero dentro de los nuevos cauces por los que andan, hay que reconocer que este lanzamiento supera con creces, sus anteriores obras del mismo estilo, y que de alguna forma nos señala sin titubeos que ellos tampoco han dejado de crecer todo este lapso como músicos.

Inferno Metal Festival se celebra en Oslo durante los primeros días del próximo mes de Abril y reúne a entusiastas del metal underground extremo de todo el mundo.

El miércoles es el día club, con conciertos en varias salas de rock del centro de menor tamaño. Del jueves al sábado, los conciertos se celebran en las grandes Rockefeller y John DEE. En total se presentan alrededor de 40 bandas durante estos cuatro días , Inferno es el mayor festival metal de Noruega.

El jueves y el viernes se organiza en Sentrum Scene, la feria Inferno Metal Expo, con una variada oferta para todos los fans del metal y demás curiosos.
