As the countdown to Obscene Extreme Festival 2026 enters its final stretch, the organisers have unveiled the last devastating additions to the Battlefield. Swedish death metal morbidity, grotesque brutality and fresh slamming extremity now officially complete one of the most overwhelming OEF line-ups in recent memory.
One of the biggest underground surprises arrived with the confirmation of Swedish death metal supergroup MURDER SQUAD. Originally formed in 1993 by members of Entombed and Dismember, the band unites legendary names such as Uffe Cederlund, Peter Stjärnvind, Matti Kärki and Richard Cabeza into one rotten and filthy death metal machine.
Initially created as an act of pure worship for the mighty Autopsy, MURDER SQUAD evolved far beyond tribute territory with albums such as “Unsane, Insane and Mentally Deranged” and the cult masterpiece “Ravenous Murderous”. Their sound combines Swedish HM-2 chainsaw brutality with doom-soaked morbidity, punk aggression and disgusting atmosphere in a way few bands have ever managed to replicate.
The organisers also highlighted how incredibly rare live appearances by MURDER SQUAD actually are. Apart from a brief reformation in 2013-2014, the band has barely performed at all, making their first-ever Czech Republic appearance at Obscene Extreme Festival 2026 a genuinely historic moment for death metal fans.
The brutality continued on January 22 with the return of Malmö death/grind bulldozers RAZORRAPE. Active since 2004, the Swedish quartet has spent more than two decades perfecting an absolutely merciless form of death/grind with grotesquely heavy riffs, suffocating brutality and utterly disgusting lyrical themes.
Unlike the melodic Swedish death metal sound many fans associate with the country, RAZORRAPE focuses purely on overwhelming heaviness and inhuman violence. The organisers described the band as a bulldozer capable of flattening the audience into “bloody shit” through nonstop brutality and devastating intensity.
Returning to the Battlefield for the third time, RAZORRAPE will also arrive armed with a brand-new album, from which several songs are expected to be performed live for the very first time.
The final confirmed band for Obscene Extreme Festival 2026 was officially announced on February 4 with Danish brutal slamming newcomers GUTTURAL DISGORGE. Formed only in 2023, the young quintet rapidly gained momentum through a series of singles and EPs before signing with Reality Fade Records, immediately signalling serious potential within the modern brutal slamming underground.
According to the organisers, GUTTURAL DISGORGE combines imaginative riffing, rotten guttural phrasing and explosive live energy into one highly destructive package designed specifically for crowd devastation. Their appearance officially closes the line-up for OEF 2026, ending months of nonstop announcements with one final brutal slamming detonation.
Alongside the final OEF band confirmations, the organisers also released several important updates regarding Obscene Society 2026, the traditional warm-up gathering for the Obscene community taking place in Pardubice.
On February 9, the festival confirmed a line-up change after INSISTENT cancelled all upcoming performances. As a replacement, Czech death/grind destroyers PROLAPSED were immediately added to the bill. According to the organisers, the band represents the perfect substitute thanks to its devastating live reputation and brutal death/grind attack already well known far beyond Czech borders.
The event itself will take place on Saturday, April 25, 2026 at ABC Club in Pardubice, featuring twelve bands, a grind market, vegan catering and a mini beer festival dedicated to small breweries.
Additional updates published on April 11 and April 18 further intensified anticipation for the gathering. The organisers revealed that the event would also celebrate the birthday of Čurby’s grandson, giving the whole weekend an even more personal and family-like underground atmosphere deeply connected to the spirit of Obscene Extreme itself.
Fans were reminded that Obscene Society 2026 would offer twelve bands, underground community spirit, craft beer, vegan food and grind culture for only 900 CZK, with pre-sale ending shortly before the event itself.
As both Obscene Society 2026 and Obscene Extreme Festival 2026 approach rapidly, the Battlefield once again looks ready to become the centre of worldwide grindcore, death metal, punk and underground extremity for another unforgettable year.
